My Writing

I Forgot

This first got it's start in a conversation between a friend and I, and most of the first draft got written during NaNoWriMo 2016. Now on it's second draft, it looks nothing like it's original conception. It's a lot more interesting, though.

Clara has no memories. Well, not exactly. She can remember everything quite clearly… so long as it happened after May 17th. From May 16th back, everything is blank. Her family tells her it’s because of a nasty fall, and she accepts that. Then, one day, she bumps into a stranger in the park, a stranger who calls her by a different name.
Clara is introduced to a whole world living in the city she calls home. A world of people who live out half their lives in secret, all because they worship someone called “God”. A world of people who seem to know who Clara is.
Will she willingly forget them, willingly go back to her comfortable existence? Or will she stay and remember? And if she stays… what happens then?

There and Never Back Again

I began this when I was much, much younger. It's actually the first book I've ever started. This is the story of my, and my family's, journey to the Orthodox Church, the story of a young teen finding her way home, written for other teens going through the same thing. There's plenty of "journey to the Church" stories, but none from a younger point of view. I'm aiming to write the book that I wanted and needed at that point in my life.

Ransom

My second novel written with the One Year Adventure Novel curriculum. It's still very much in the planning stage and will stay that way until I finish I Forgot

Nina’s world is turned upside down when her father is killed in a hit-and-run, but things only get worse when she is kidnapped by her father’s estranged brother Matt.
Once Christopher learns that his little godsister is being held for ransom, he takes off after her, terrified of what might happen.
Can Nina escape, and can Christopher find her before it’s too late?

For Hailey

My second novel written with One Year Adventure Novel. It only has a few chapters on the first draft, but I'm unsure if I'll finish it at this point.

Gregory and his little sister Hailey accidentally time travel when they crash-land on a strange professor’s work. Stuck in 878 A.D. Wessex, a land on the brink of war with invading Danes, they try to make the best of a bad situation. Then their village is raided by vikings and Hailey is kidnapped. Hot on the trail to rescue her, Gregory discovers that not only is the life of his sister at stake, but so is the entire history of the world as they know it.

Comments

  1. I think that "There and Never Back Again" is going to be an important book. I wish I had had it when I was converting to Orthodox.
