Welcome to the new blog // Why I moved

Welcome, one and all, to Orthodoxy, Hobbits, and Tea, my new online home!

*throws confetti*

I'm glad you're all here! At this point, if you're looking at this, you probably came over from my old blog. If so, thank you so much for following me! You're probably also wondering why I randomly upped and moved without much warning (yes, I have mind reading skills *wiggles fingers*). There are actually several reasons to that question

The first reason is pretty simple - I like blogger a lot better than wordpress, especially in the comments area. It's a lot easier to customize and have things the way I like it; there's just more freedom in general.

The second reason goes a little deeper. I was feeling a bit confined in my old blog. I felt like I had stuck myself in a rut doing something I didn't want to do. I wanted more freedom in what I wrote, and I don't know why, but just staying at that particular blog address was almost mentally confining me. And that, as well as my desire to write different things than what I was before, feed into the purpose of this blog.

I don't exactly have it summarized in one line or anything, except maybe as the title. You see, I'm an Orthodox Christian. A teenaged Orthodox Christian, to be more exact. And there's very, very little for us on the internet. If you're Protestant, or even Catholic, there's a lot of resources and teenagers and blogs, but for us, there's one YouTube series and a couple downloadable pamphlets, the last regurgitating stuff I already know. So that's what I want to do. I want to start a blog for Orthodox teenagers by an Orthodox teenager. But I'm also a bookworm and an author, and I want to talk about that, too. So this is my blog, Orthodoxy, Hobbits, and Tea.

Before I go, I'll show you around a bit. If you've gotten through the paragraph above and are confused about what an "Orthodox Christian" is (no, we're not Jewish), or if you know but are curious what my answer is, you can go to the "Orthodoxy" page. If you want to navigate my writing and bookish posts (when they start showing up), you can go to their pages. Stuff about the person behind the keyboard is up under About Me, and if you've got a question about anything, want me to write a post about something in particular, or just want to chat, the contact me's in the side bar.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I'm super excited about how this blog is turning out, and I'm so glad you've decided to come along for the ride!
